A-Level / Master Automotive Technician - M-F, Weekends Optional, Strong Flat-Rate Pay Mobicare Automotive Repair - Hubert, NC Mobicare Automotive Repair is looking for an experienced A-Level / Master Automotive Technician who can diagnose and repair vehicles from front to back without needing to be babysat. We are a small, growing independent repair shop , and that creates a unique opportunity for the right technician. You won't be employee #27 buried inside a large dealership or corporate shop. You'll be joining a small team where your experience, productivity, ideas, and workmanship can have a direct impact on where the company goes. Who We're Looking For This is not an entry-level technician position . We're looking for an experienced technician who can be handed a difficult vehicle and develop a logical diagnostic plan rather than immediately reaching for a parts catalog.

You should be capable of:

Advanced electrical diagnosis Engine performance and drivability diagnosis CAN/network and module-related diagnosis Engine and transmission replacement Steering, suspension and brake repair HVAC diagnosis and repair Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams Using OEM/service information effectively Module programming, relearns and calibrations Performing thorough digital vehicle inspections Writing detailed technician notes explaining your testing and conclusions Verifying repairs before returning vehicles to customers PicoScope / Oscilloscope Experience Required You must be familiar with using a PicoScope or automotive oscilloscope as a diagnostic tool. We're looking for someone who understands that a scope isn't just something sitting on the diagnostic cart. You should be comfortable using an oscilloscope when appropriate for things such as crankshaft/camshaft signals, relative compression testing, injector and ignition waveforms, communication/network diagnosis, sensors, actuators and intermittent electrical faults. You don't have to know every waveform from memory, but you must understand how to set up and use a scope, capture a signal, and interpret what the waveform is telling you. We want a technician who is willing to prove what's wrong with a vehicle instead of guessing. No Parts Cannon Our philosophy is simple: Zero-Guesswork & 100% Evidence If testing hasn't confirmed that a component failed, we don't want to tell a customer that it failed. We expect our technicians to understand the difference between: "I think this is the problem." and "Here's the testing that proves this is the problem." If your normal diagnostic process is replacing parts until the problem disappears, Mobicare probably isn't the right shop for you. Documentation Matters Your technician notes should tell the story of the vehicle. We don't want: "Needs brakes." We want to know what you inspected, what you measured, what failed, why you're recommending the repair, and how you verified your conclusion. The same applies to diagnostic work. We expect detailed documentation because it protects the customer, technician and shop while allowing our service advisor to clearly explain and sell properly diagnosed work.
