Heavy Truck Technician Position Description:
Heavy Truck Technician for an independent repair shop. We work on all systems of heavy vehicles, and our staff our highly trained. This position will elevate every candidate in their career as a professional heavy technician. Duties/Responsibilities Running diagnostic tests on heavy vehicles. Analyzing diagnostic test results. Replacing & repairing all heavy vehicle componants Checking vehicle lighting systems. Test-driving vehicles to gauge performance. Performing preventative maintenance on heavy vehicles Enter detailed technician notes into provided shop software Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist. Service, repair, and maintain refrigeration units Know, and exemplify our core values & vision Skills/ Abilities Basic to intermediate use of technology Ability to work in various weather conditions Ability to operate various tools, including mobile service truck Ability to perform manual labor such as moving parts and equipment Ability to lift 100lbs & be on feet for most of the day Work independently following company policies and procedures Experience/Requirements High School Diploma or GED or equivalent preferred CDL- A or B, preferred but not required 3 years of heavy-duty repair experience required Knowledge of the fleet maintenance required Heavy Duty Inspection License preferred but not required ASE Diesel Certification(s) advantageous. Previous OEM or Accredited Training advantageous Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components. Good interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal communication skills. Good organization skills.
