Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Automotive Service Advisor/Writer to join our fast-paced automotive service team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact between customers and our service department, ensuring a seamless experience from vehicle intake to completion. Your expertise will help customers understand their vehicle's needs, recommend appropriate services, and facilitate efficient repairs. Your energetic approach and mechanical knowledge will drive customer satisfaction and foster long-term relationships. Duties Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to their vehicle concerns to accurately identify service needs Prepare detailed repair estimates using estimating software, ensuring transparency and clarity for customers Communicate effectively with technicians regarding vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and estimated timelines Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work to maximize customer value Manage the entire service process from vehicle check-in through completion, including cash handling and invoicing Maintain thorough documentation of all customer interactions, repairs performed, and parts used Collaborate with the parts department to ensure timely availability of necessary components for repairs Provide excellent client communication by explaining repair procedures clearly and answering questions confidently Stay informed about automotive diagnostics and new service technologies to better assist customers Skills Proven experience in private auto service environments with strong knowledge of automotive repair processes Familiarity with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools Mechanical experience or background as a service technician is highly advantageous Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally Ability to upsell services tactfully while maintaining integrity and customer trust Strong understanding of automotive diagnostics, oil changes, brake repair, alignments, shocks & struts, tire service, air brake systems and suspension systems Proficiency in cash handling and managing invoices accurately Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for test drives or vehicle inspections as needed Knowledge of auto estimating procedures and service shop operations is preferred Join our team if you're passionate about cars, excel at client communication, and thrive in a lively environment where your mechanical knowledge makes a real difference!
