ABC Parts International is a family-run business with more than 40 years of experience in the aftermarket parts business. We are a distributor of auto body parts in the New York, New Jersey & Connecticut areas. We sell aftermarket parts such as hoods, fenders, bumpers, headlights, grilles, radiators, condensers, etc. Summary As a Fleet Mechanic , you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and coordination of our company fleet of over 70 vehicles. This is a hands-on position for an experienced mechanic with fleet repair experience. You will work directly with the General Manager to coordinate preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair vehicles, schedule outside repairs when necessary, order parts, and maintain accurate maintenance records. Our fleet consists primarily of cargo vans and box trucks, including Ford Transit, Ram ProMaster, Chevrolet/GMC Express, and similar vehicles. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, experience with preventative maintenance, and the ability to organize and coordinate maintenance for a large fleet.

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of mechanic experience . Minimum of 3 years of experience working on fleet vehicles . Clean Driver's License, background check required. Experience working on cargo vans, box trucks, and similar commercial vehicles. Experience working on vehicles such as Ford Transit, Ram ProMaster, Chevrolet/GMC Express, and similar fleet vehicles. Strong experience with preventative maintenance and diagnosing mechanical problems. Must have experience performing oil changes, brake repairs, suspension repairs, and general mechanical repairs. Experience diagnosing and repairing engine and transmission issues. Must be able to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple maintenance and repair needs. Must be organized, dependable, and able to work independently. Must be able to communicate effectively with the General Manager, drivers, and outside repair facilities. Must be comfortable working in a shop environment located inside a warehouse, with exposure to heat and cold.

Responsibilities:

Work directly with the General Manager to coordinate routine preventative maintenance on all fleet vehicles. Create and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for the company's fleet of over 70 vehicles. Review driver-submitted pre-trip inspection forms on a daily basis. Schedule repairs and maintenance to resolve issues identified on driver pre-trip forms. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine the appropriate repairs. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs including oil changes, brakes, suspension repairs, engine repairs, transmission repairs, and other general mechanical repairs. Order parts and supplies needed for vehicle maintenance and repairs. Maintain an inventory of commonly used parts and supplies. Complete repairs in-house when possible. Coordinate with outside repair shops when repairs need to be outsourced. Schedule and follow up on outsourced repairs and monitor vehicle repair status. Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records for all fleet vehicles. Use the company's GPS and maintenance systems to monitor and coordinate vehicle maintenance. Ensure all annual vehicle registrations and inspections are completed on time. Complete inspections of new vehicles and ensure they are properly serviced and ready for use. Ensure fleet vehicles are properly maintained and available for use. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment. Follow all company policies and safety procedures. Perform other related job duties as assigned. Working hours are from 7:45 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday (overtime offered as needed). We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
