Maintenance Technician - Tractor Trailer

If so, Bains Towing & Recovery invites you to join our growing team in Kirkville, NY! We're seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician who has a strong understanding of Heavy-Duty Trucks & Trailers. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on tractor/trailer equipment Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, air brake, and suspension issues Conduct inspections to ensure equipment meets DOT safety standards Complete routine maintenance such as coolant leaks, brakes, tires, roof patches, corner caps and computer diagnosis. Maintain accurate repair and service documentation Keep work area clean, organized, and safety compliant Communicate effectively with management regarding equipment status and repair needs Assist with minimizing downtime and maintaining fleet readiness Qualifications Previous experience working on tractor/trailer equipment preferred Basic understanding of diesel systems, air brakes, and trailer components Ability to work independently and efficiently Strong attention to detail and safety practices Valid driver's license preferred Ability to lift, bend, squat, and work in varying weather conditions Owning personal tools is a strong plus What We Offer Competitive hourly pay: $25-$35/hr DOE Stable full-time schedule Opportunity for growth within the company Supportive team environment Preferred Traits Dependable and punctual Strong work ethic Team-oriented attitude Ability to adapt in a fast-paced shop environment
