Job Summary Tri Star Chevrolet is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified General Motors (GM) Technician to join our dynamic automotive service team. In this role, you will perform comprehensive repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance on GM vehicles, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and customer satisfaction. Your expertise will help deliver top-tier automotive service by utilizing your mechanical knowledge and technical skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex vehicle issues efficiently. Duties Conduct thorough diagnostics using advanced automotive electrical systems, schematics, and diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately. Perform repairs on powertrain components such as transmissions, engines (including diesel engines), and drive systems to restore vehicle functionality. Service and repair automotive suspension systems, including shocks & struts, alignments, and wheel balancing to ensure optimal handling. Execute brake repairs, including air brake systems for heavy-duty vehicles, ensuring safety compliance and vehicle reliability. Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and vehicle inspections to maintain fleet health. Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and mechanical systems repair techniques to complete repairs efficiently. Interpret automotive schematics and electrical diagrams for troubleshooting automotive electrical systems and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). Maintain detailed service records, complete auto estimating procedures for repairs, and communicate effectively with customers about repair needs. Requirements Valid certification as a General Motors Technician with relevant industry experience in dealership or independent repair shops. Proven experience working with GM vehicles or similar automotive brands; dealership experience is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, mechanical systems repair, transmission repair, diesel engine repair, and powertrain components. Familiarity with ADAS technology, air brake systems, auto body repair basics, and heavy equipment mechanics is a plus. Proficiency in reading schematics and using diagnostic software to troubleshoot complex vehicle issues. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools safely and effectively. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients. Mechanical knowledge of suspension systems—including shocks & struts—and alignment procedures is essential. Experience working in the automotive repair industry with a focus on quality workmanship and safety standards.
