## Job Overview We are seeking an energetic, customer-focused Automotive Service Writer to join our growing service center. In this role, you will be the face of our business—greeting customers, listening to their vehicle concerns, and translating those needs into clear service tickets for our automotive technicians. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills, a professional attitude, and a strong ability to build trust with clients. ## Key Responsibilities
Customer Relations:
- Greet customers warmly, actively listen to their vehicle issues, and document symptoms accurately.
Service Coordination:
- Act as the primary liaison between customers and automotive technicians, ensuring clear communication regarding vehicle diagnostics and repair needs.
Estimating & Sales:
- Formulate accurate cost estimates for parts and labor, present service recommendations clearly to customers, and obtain proper authorization before work begins.
Workflow Management:
- Schedule service appointments, track the progress of vehicles in the shop, and provide timely status updates to clients throughout the day.
Quality Assurance:
- Explain completed repairs and invoices clearly to customers upon pickup, process payments, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. ## Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (Vocational training or college degree is a plus).
- Previous experience as a Service Writer, Service Advisor, or in a fast-paced retail customer service role preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with shop management software (e.g., Mitchell 1, Shop-Ware, or Alldata Software) is highly desirable. We use Alldata Software but having experience in other shop management software is a plus.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
