Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Heavy Equipment Fuel/Lube Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine fueling, lubrication, and basic maintenance on a wide range of heavy construction and industrial equipment. Your expertise will ensure equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably across various job sites. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy equipment, while applying your mechanical skills and troubleshooting abilities to keep operations running smoothly. Responsibilities Conduct fueling, lubrication, and fluid checks on heavy machinery such as excavators, loaders, and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance. Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks aligned with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. Troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to perform equipment repairs and modifications. Assist in assembling new machinery or parts following technical manuals and schematics; ensure proper installation and alignment. Maintain accurate service records, logs of fuel consumption, fluid levels, repairs performed, and parts used for each piece of equipment. Requirements Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including excavators, forklifts, loaders, and other industrial equipment. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, hydraulic systems troubleshooting, diesel engine repair, HVAC systems for heavy machinery, and schematics interpretation. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (including soldering), and power lifting techniques. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during maintenance procedures. Knowledge of tire service procedures for large tires on heavy equipment; experience with alignment and suspension adjustments is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs. Valid certifications or experience with OEM standards for construction machinery servicing; dealership experience is highly preferred. Familiarity with construction equipment operation is advantageous but not mandatory; a strong mechanical aptitude is essential.
