Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Heavy Equipment Lube/Fuel Tech to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of a wide range of heavy machinery and construction equipment by performing routine lubrication, fueling, and basic troubleshooting tasks. Your expertise will help maintain the safety, efficiency, and longevity of our fleet, supporting ongoing projects and daily operations. Responsibilities Perform routine lubrication, fueling, and fluid checks on heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers, and other construction machinery. Conduct inspections and basic diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brake systems to identify potential issues early. Assist with equipment troubleshooting and repairs using hand tools, power tools, schematics, and diagnostic equipment to ensure minimal downtime. Support fabrication tasks such as welding, assembly, and minor modifications to equipment as needed. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, fuel usage, fluid levels, and repair logs to ensure compliance with safety standards. Operate heavy machinery safely during routine servicing or when assisting with equipment movement on-site. Skills Proven experience with heavy equipment mechanics including excavators, forklifts, tractors, and construction machinery maintenance. Basic mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic devices for repairs and troubleshooting. Experience with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts and service procedures for Caterpillar or similar brands. Knowledge of construction equipment servicing including HVAC systems and tire service. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members or clients when necessary.
