Experienced Automotive Repair Technician | Johnson Family Chevrolet Monday-Friday. No weekends. Paid GM training. Flat-rate or hourly + bonus. Johnson Family Chevrolet is a locally owned dealership with a busy service drive, a full mechanical shop for larger jobs, and an in-house body and collision center. We are a family business in the real sense — we take care of customers and we take care of the people who fix their cars. We need an experienced technician who can diagnose hard problems, repair them to spec, and take pride in doing the job once. The job Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, drivability, and performance concerns Follow GM and manufacturer procedures Complete inspections and recommend needed maintenance and repairs Use factory diagnostic equipment and documented repair processes Write clear repair notes and technician videos Work with advisors so the customer hears a complete, honest recommendation Hit production while protecting quality Help apprentice and entry-level techs when it makes sense Stay current on GM technology and required manufacturer training What you bring 5+ years as a professional automotive technician Strong diagnostics, especially electrical Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record Willingness to keep training current, including hands-on classes Work ethic, attention to detail, and a "fix it right the first time" standard Nice to have (not required) ASE certifications GM, Ford, or Chrysler experience Ability to obtain a Virginia State Inspection license What we offer Competitive hourly pay with bonus or a strong flat-rate program Monday-Friday schedule — no weekends Paid GM training, including travel and meals when required Company apparel and shoe allowance Modern equipment and diagnostic tools Paid time off Medical, dental, and vision 401(k) with company match Employee discounts on vehicles, service, and parts Who does well here People who show up ready to produce, who would rather do the job correctly than rush it, who want to keep learning, and who like working on a team that values professionalism, accountability, and respect.
