Overview We are seeking an experienced Auto Repair Technician to join our team in a flexible, independent role. As an independent contractor operating on a 1099 basis, you will have the opportunity to write off your tools, vehicle costs, and other related expenses. The role involves performing repairs based on flat rate books, ensuring you are compensated for the full estimated hours regardless of actual time spent on each job. Duties Perform a wide range of automotive repairs and maintenance tasks with expertise and efficiency. Utilize flat rate books to determine job times and ensure accurate billing for each repair. Complete repairs whether at a fixed shop location or mobile service sites, providing flexible auto repair solutions. Diagnose vehicle issues accurately and recommend appropriate repairs or maintenance. Manage your own tools, vehicle expenses, and related costs for tax deduction purposes. Maintain high standards of safety and quality in all repair work. Communicate effectively with clients regarding repair needs and timelines. Keep detailed records of services performed and parts used for each job. Skills Proven experience as an auto repair technician with strong diagnostic skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Familiarity with flat rate manuals and billing procedures. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple jobs efficiently. Good communication skills to interact professionally with clients. Comfort with mobile auto repair services is a plus. Valid automotive technician certification or equivalent experience preferred.
