This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment, facility systems, and plant utilities to help ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted production. The ideal candidate has hands-on industrial maintenance experience with stamping presses, automation equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and preventive maintenance practices. This position works closely with Production, Tooling, Quality, and Maintenance team members to reduce downtime, improve equipment reliability, and support overall plant performance. Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting Conduct regular inspections and perform preventive maintenance on stamping presses, feeders, straighteners, conveyors, and related production equipment to ensure optimal performance Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues using appropriate tools, including multimeters and other diagnostic instruments Perform repairs and adjustments on press systems, hydraulic components, and automation equipment to minimize downtime Support die setup and changeovers by ensuring equipment is properly functioning and ready for production Metal Stamping Production Support Maintain and repair punch presses (progressive, transfer, and/or hydraulic presses) and associated automation systems Collaborate with Production, Tooling, and Quality teams to resolve equipment-related issues and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to reduce downtime and support on-time production schedules Facility & Utilities Maintenance Maintain facility systems including compressed air, electrical distribution, water systems, and general plant utilities Perform routine inspections and basic repairs to support overall facility operations Safety & Compliance Operate scissor lifts and other equipment safely while adhering to all safety protocols Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and PPE requirements at all times Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S principles Support compliance with company safety policies and quality systems (e.g., IATF 16949 / ISO standards as applicable) Continuous Improvement & Projects Participate in equipment upgrades, retrofits, and process improvement initiatives Propose and implement practical technical solutions to improve equipment reliability and production efficiency Assist in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions to reduce recurring issues Documentation & Maintenance Systems Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections Support equipment documentation and spare parts tracking Utilize CMMS (if applicable) to manage work orders and maintenance activities Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a metal stamping or manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience Strong understanding of punch presses, automation equipment, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical circuits Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment in a production environment Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and precision measuring instruments Skills & Competencies Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities Ability to analyze problems effectively and implement timely solutions Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals Experience with CMMS systems preferred but not required Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams Strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement Work Environment & Physical Requirements Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, oils, and metal materials Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50lbs Required use of PPE (safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, hearing protection, etc.) May require working at heights (scissor lifts) and responding to urgent maintenance needs
