This role ensures the smooth and efficient operation of all equipment while minimizing downtime and ensuring safety standards are met. (Travel to our Pomona site, as needed ). JOB DUTIES
Essential job functions and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:Equipment Maintenance and Repair:
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems on a variety of industrial equipment. Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic tests using specialized tools and equipment to identify and resolve issues promptly. Install, maintain and upgrade machinery and systems to meet production demands. Design, modify and/or fabricate parts and fixtures. Disassemble obsolete equipment and hardware for disposal.Preventive Maintenance:
Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and enhance equipment longevity- (motors, pumps, blowers, compressors). Coordinate down times with Senior Mechanic. Maintenance Mechanic Manager and Production Managers for cleaning, maintenance, and repair. Document maintenance activities, including inspections and repairs, in maintenance logs.Inventory/ Hygiene and Resource Management:
Monitor inventory levels of spare parts, tools and materials, order replacement parts as needed. Operate and maintain the company's tool crib. Maintain cleanliness and order in the work areas.Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to and enforce workplace safety regulations and standards. Conduct safety inspections and ensure all equipment complies with relevant codes and regulations.Facility Maintenance:
Repair fixtures, lighting, electrical components, plumbing, flooring and partitions. Fabricate cabinets, tables, racks, jigs, and other equipment for company use.Other duties:
Make continuous improvement in the execution of all tasks.QUALIFICATIONS

Proficient computer skills and knowledge applicable to the job (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, e-mail), as well as proficiency in the use of in-house programs and applications. Excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle multiple duties and assignments effectively and efficiently. Strong knowledge of production methods, systems, and continuous-improvement processes. Ability to adapt effectively to workplace changes and new job duties/responsibilities. Collaborative and the ability to work individually when necessary. Willingness and ability to influence team-members in safety work practices. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job (manual dexterity, standing requirements, etc). The appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position are achievable through the following combination of education, work experience and training: High School Diploma or equivalent GED Certificate; and 2+ years' experience as a mechanic or similar work experience.
