This role supports operational efficiency by minimizing downtime, executing preventative maintenance programs, and ensuring all work is completed safely and in compliance with food safety regulations and Cal/OSHA standards.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on conveyors, packaging/boxing equipment, forklifts, hydraulic lifts, cooling systems, and facility machinery. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues; identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Respond promptly to maintenance requests to minimize production and warehouse downtime. Conduct routine inspections and maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment conditions. Assist with installation, modification, and upgrading of equipment and systems. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area; ensure proper storage of tools and parts. Follow all lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and safety protocols during maintenance activities. Support food safety, sanitation, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements. Communicate equipment status, repair progress, and parts needs to the Maintenance Manager. Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption. Assist and oversee external contractors, vendors, and service providers as needed. Participate in safety meetings, audits, and training programs. Monitor equipment performance, energy usage, and recommend process improvements. Lead root cause investigations on recurring equipment issues and implement long-term solutions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 2-4

years of experience in industrial, warehouse, or manufacturing equipment maintenance Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics, and pneumatics Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation Familiarity with OSHA standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and GMP principles Ability to work independently and as part of a team Education and Experience Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, typically: High school diploma or equivalent required Technical or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred Experience in food processing, produce packaging, or cold storage environments preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong diagnostic and repair skills across multiple equipment systems Working knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and documentation practices Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment Understanding of workplace safety, hazard communication, and sanitation standards
