This role maintains, and repairs mechanical, electrical, and mechatronic systems; executes preventative and corrective maintenance; and sustains spare parts readiness so downtime is minimized. The ideal candidate is safety-oriented, technically strong, and able to troubleshoot under pressure while partnering with engineering and operations to improve equipment reliability and long-term sustainability. What You'll Do Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) on automation, industrial production, and mechatronics equipment to sustain reliability and reduce unplanned downtime Respond to and repair production-down equipment as a first-line problem solver; restore equipment/ to safe operating condition Execute Corrective Maintenance on electrical, mechanical, conveyor, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC/network, and robotics systems Maintain spare parts readiness—identify critical spares, order parts/supplies from catalogues or storerooms, and keep inventory aligned to equipment needs Log all work performed (PMs, repairs, parts usage, shift pass-downs) accurately and on time Read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics; use meters and standard hand/power tools to diagnose faults and implement lasting fixes Uphold safety standards while working in production environments (heights, confined spaces, lifting up to 50 lbs) and complete other tasks as directed by management What You'll Bring 5+ years of maintenance experience on production/manufacturing or automation equipment, or equivalent training/education Solid electrical knowledge with advanced multimeter skills; able to troubleshoot using schematic diagrams across AC/DC systems Proficient with pneumatics (solenoid valves, actuators, controls) and basic hydraulic system operations; able to read related schematics Ability to analyze faults and error conditions, identify root causes, and implement viable long-term solutions—not only temporary recoveries Able to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings and inspect to specified tolerances Strong verbal and written communication for procedures, shift pass-downs, and coordination with engineering, operations, and leadership Safety-oriented; able to work in a fast-paced production environment, including off-shifts as needed; competent with job-specific PC applications and basic computer tools Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation $37.38 - $49.28/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
