$20 hourly, commensurate with experienceHours:
30 Hours per week, Weekend Work required.Position Description:
Under the direction of the Facilities & Maintenance Manager carry out daily custodial cleaning tasks, blowing off of walkways and parking lots, special event set-up and breakdown of tables, chairs, and AV setup systems for classes and events. Assist other departments when instructed by the Facilities & Maintenance Manager to do so. Minor facility repairs to include painting, carpentry, repair of existing structures, plumbing, minor electrical repairs, and custodial skills. Also Adhere to standards for proper use of power hand tools.Duties and Responsibilities:
Clean and maintain restrooms, garden offices, library, garden shop, bride's room, and horticulture offices and break room. Blow off all paths and parking lots daily Event and program set up as needed, includes moving and setting up tables,chairs and coffee service.Skills Required:
The Facilities, Custodial & Maintenance Technician should have a broad range of repair and maintenance skills, with an emphasis on painting, building, and wood structure (trellis) maintenance and custodial skills. Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing repair is desired. Irrigation experience is a plus+Qualifications:
CA Driver's License or ability to obtain one is required Professional licensing (electrical, plumbing, etc.) is desired but not required. Self-starter, team player who is motivated and able to manage time effectively. A friendly, polite, and service-oriented demeanor is required for professional interactions with volunteers and guests. Proof of citizenship is requiredPhysical Demands:
Frequently required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl while setting up for programs or events. Climbing ladders. Ability to bend, twist and reach. Ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Work Environment:
May perform repair and custodial work in office buildings and outdoors within the garden areas, parking lots and other outside structures. Regularly exposed to wet and/or hot/cold conditions.
