POSITION SUMMARY CML

Security is seeking a hands-on, self-driven craft professional with steel fabrication experience, welding ability, and carpentry skills. The ideal candidate is a carpenter who can weld or a millwright who is comfortable installing and adjusting hollow metal. Detention-specific systems and processes can be taught; practical trade experience, mechanical aptitude, and initiative are the priorities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Fabricate, fit, install, adjust, and maintain steel assemblies and detention-related equipment. Install and maintain doors, frames, locks, sliders, door closers, furniture, and related hardware. Perform welding and carpentry work required for field installation, repair and modification. Install wire mesh, security ceilings, wall panels, glazing and caulking. Plan, install, service and test mechanical and electronic locking systems. Lay out equipment locations using construction documents and shop drawings. Troubleshoot mechanical and door-hardware issues and complete emergency repairs as needed. Handle and distribute construction materials, including doors, frames, glass, hardware, steel furniture, and steel assemblies. Communicate effectively, work independently , and maintain CML Security standards, culture, and values. Assist with related building maintenance tasks and other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Steel fabrication background. Welding experience. Carpentry skills and experience using common trade tools. Self-driven work style with the ability to take ownership of assigned work. Mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills. Ability to read or learn to read construction documents and shop drawings. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. High school diploma or GED preferred.

EXPERIENCE THAT IS A PLUS

Door hardware experience, including locks, closers, exit devices, and panic hardware. Millwright, field installation, or detention-equipment experience. Experience servicing mechanical or electronic locking systems.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This role involves regular travel to active job sites in multiple states to support CML Security's ongoing projects. This position may also include on-call assignments. Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screen.
