Job Description
Job Summary The Maintenance Technician Assistant supports the maintenance team in performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and general upkeep of equipment, buildings, and grounds. This role helps ensure a safe, clean, and efficient work environment by assisting with maintenance tasks and responding to work orders. Key Responsibilities Assist maintenance technicians with repairs and maintenance of equipment, machinery, and facilities. Perform routine inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns. Help with preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition. Replace light bulbs, filters, and other basic building components. Assist with painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC tasks as directed. Move furniture, equipment, and materials as needed. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies. Follow all company safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Keep accurate records of completed maintenance tasks and report issues to supervisors. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous maintenance, construction, or mechanical experience is a plus but not required. Basic knowledge of hand and power tools. Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, including standing, bending, climbing ladders, and working in various weather conditions. Work Environment Indoor and outdoor work in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. May require evenings, weekends, or on-call availability depending on business needs. Preferred Skills Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or HVAC systems. Valid driver's license OSHA or other safety training is a plus.
