AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE OFFICER, GS-1601-14
your duties are below. Collabores with the Wing Commander and other group commanders to plan, develop and implement numerous long term plans to include: the Wing Stregic Plan (mission, goals, values, objectives, etc.), the Base Master Plan (facilities), Communicions/Computer Plan (infrastructure capabilities/upgrade), the Vehicle Replacement Plan, Four Year Deployment Plan, Aircraft Modificion Plan, Depot Input Plan, force management and recruiting/retention plans, weapon system conversions, base supplements to tasking operional plans, operional planning for Aerospace Expeditionary Forces (AEF) participion, and others. Through subordine functional supervisors, directs and supervises staff and production functions affecting very complex high performance aircraft with a wide variety of high cost, sophisticed systems, controlling approximely two thirds of base dollars. Directs a group work force ranging from325 to 674 skilled technicians and traditional guard members, including a variety of staff, administrive, and trades and crafts occupions. Plans, organizes, schedules, controls, and directs all unit aircraft maintenance resources to meet mission requirements. Directs programs to ensure mission accomplishment and the optimum use of resources. In conjunction with the Operions Group Commander, directs the effective use of flying hours and training events to ensure the Wing can meet contingency and wartime tasking. of the aviion element, as well as the Expeditionary Comb Support (ECS). Through subordine supervisors, manages aircraft maintenance activities. Ensures resources such as facilities, manpower, equipment, communicions, technical da, tools, and parts are adeque to meet the unit peacetime and wartime mission. Plans, schedules, controls and directs the use of all resources to assure timely, effective and complete support of mission requirements. Ensures all aircraft maintenance work meets the highest standards of airworthiness, and th tention is focused on the wartime tasking of the unit. Balances peacetime economy, readiness, and responsiveness to wartime tasking, resources, and survivability. Plans and institutes fiscal policies to implement federal law and higher headquarters directives. Provides optimum support to subordine organizions in asset acquisition, distribution and accountability, fiscal planning and programming, funds distribution and management, economic analysis assistance, budget administrion, merial management, and reled activities. Coordines with the operions and maintenance groups to ensure an integred approach to the solution of problems reling to availability of A/C, and the ability to conduct the military mission. Assesses the impact of the flying schedule and schedule changes program to ensure th aircraft requirements and configurions can be met. Plans, implements, and coordines multiple complex and often competing mission requirements and commitments involving Expeditionary Comb Support (ECS) and aviion packages for Air Expeditionary Force (AEF) taskings. Plans, implements, and executes contingency operions involving from two to six like units in support of Aerospace Expeditionary Forces. Participes in decision making impacting aircraft availability, configurion, and capability. Plans for force protection, resource protection and recovery of btle damaged aircraft. Manages and dispches Maintenance Recovery Teams (MRT) all over the world to recover disabled aircraft. Ensures planned generion/regenerion of aircraft meets Air Tasking Order guidance in coordinion with the Operions Group Commander. Represents and speaks for the Wing Commander, with representives of the Nional Guard Bureau, the Adjutant General, USP&FO, other military components, ste/local governments, business and other public/prive groups or organizions and persons having an interest in the programs of the wing/group. Coordines aircraft maintenance requirements across agency lines (i.e., the MAJCOM staff). Maintains direct contact with the NGB staff and with counterparts other ANG bases in order to resolve problems affecting maintenance capabilities and to ensure timely exchange of pertinent technical, managerial, and mission informion. At least semi-annually, meets with other aircraft maintenance group commanders, of the same and/or different mission design series, to advise on policies and procedures affecting the Air Nional Guard aircraft maintenance workforce, infrastructure support, and regulory guidance. Serves, as required, as chair or vice-chair of councils th meet the nional level on areas th pertain to their assigned mission design series aircraft. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Experience, educion, or training which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of equipment maintenance work, or skill in reading engineering drawings and specificions, using test instruments, making computions, and keeping records. Experience using computer and automion systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
GS-1601-14: Must haveexperience in the following : 1-year specialized experience to least the next lower grade th provided experience in applying principles, concepts, and methods of equipment, facility, or service operions sufficient in planning assignments. Experience using well-established occupional methods and techniques to determine facility, grounds, equipment overhaul, maintenance, restorion, repair needs, etc. Experience in determinion of resource needs, allocion of resources, and budgeting/funding needs. Experience in human resources management policy mters affecting the entire organizion, with personnel actions affecting key employees to include experience coordining work forces and resources and negotiing with management or clients concerning problems. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
