Job Description
A well-established manufacturing organization is currently looking for a skilled plant Maintenance Technician at the II or III level. We invite you to explore this excellent career opportunity with our team. Role Overview This position is designated for an Industrial Maintenance Technician II or III, focusing on multi-craft maintenance and electro-mechanical systems. Level III technicians are expected to demonstrate advanced capabilities in mechanical and electrical diagnosis, including the ability to interpret PLC ladder logic and diagrams, though programming is not required. Compensation and Schedule The listed pay rates incorporate a $1.50/hour shift differential. Maintenance Tech II roles range from $30.05 to $38.60 per hour, while Maintenance Tech III roles range from $34.55 to $44.40 per hour, with additional pay for overtime. The 3rd shift operates from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed. Candidates must also remain flexible to transition to a Sunday-Thursday schedule based on operational demands. Your Impact You will manage and execute both preventive and reactive maintenance tasks to support plant manufacturing. Your primary objectives include overseeing PM schedules, repairing equipment to ensure peak production output, and managing spare parts inventory. This role requires the ability to work over 40 hours weekly, including weekends and on-call responsibilities as necessary. Core Responsibilities Your duties will include, but are not limited to: Diagnose and repair machinery and control systems, such as AC/DC drives, chillers, and downstream equipment, to minimize downtime. Participate in company-led training initiatives to continuously enhance your professional skill set. Identify, specify, and procure necessary replacement components and control parts from vendors. Improve CMMS data integrity by ensuring all preventive maintenance and repair work orders are completed accurately and on time. Serve as the primary point of contact for machine troubleshooting, escalating to Electrical Engineering when further expertise is required. Provide essential support for daily management directives and operational goals. Collaborate on the development of continuous improvement projects to boost production efficiency and enhance workplace safety. Partner with production teams to help maintain a safe and reliable working environment for all staff. Required Skills and Knowledge Candidates should possess the following expertise: Proficiency with electrical testing tools including ohm meters, voltmeters, ammeters, and Meggers. A solid grasp of basic machine functionality and the sequence of operations for production equipment. Ability to interpret complex mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical schematics. Knowledge of relevant safety and electrical codes, including NFPA 79, UL508A, and NEC. Adherence to established Lock Out Tag Out safety protocols. Understanding of PPE requirements and arc flash safety. Competency in mechanical math and electrical formulas. Experience with 3-phase power distribution and industrial wiring. Technical experience with servo motors and AC/DC drives. Capability to troubleshoot PLC networking and I/O. Training in motion control systems involving servo motors and drives. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Education and Experience A high school diploma or vocational school equivalent is required. Preferred qualifications include technical training in pneumatics, hydraulics, or electrical systems, along with 2-5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, controls, and electrical systems. Basic training in drives and PLCs is desired, and familiarity with plastic processing is considered a plus. Technical Proficiencies Developing and managing preventive maintenance schedules. Performing equipment diagnostics and troubleshooting. Repairing mechanical systems and components. Implementing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Installing electrical panels. Reading and interpreting electrical schematics. Wiring and installing new equipment. Managing access control systems. Performing routine equipment repair and maintenance.
