Perkins Septic & Drain Service is looking for a dependable and mechanically inclined Maintenance Shop Technician to help maintain our trucks, equipment, and shop. This is a hands-on position that will involve preventative maintenance, basic repairs, troubleshooting, cleaning equipment, and keeping the shop organized and running smoothly. The ideal candidate is reliable, takes pride in their work, has strong mechanical knowledge, and can identify problems before they become larger repairs. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on company trucks, tankers, trailers, and equipment Perform oil changes, fluid checks, filter changes, greasing, and other preventative maintenance Inspect trucks and equipment for leaks, damage, wear, or other potential problems Assist with diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues Maintain pumps, hoses, fittings, valves, jetters, and other service equipment Change or repair lights, batteries, hoses, belts, and other components as needed Assist with tire changes and basic tire maintenance Complete preventative maintenance inspections and keep accurate maintenance records Keep track of repairs that are needed and communicate issues to management Maintain an organized inventory of commonly used parts, fluids, filters, and shop supplies Wash and clean trucks and equipment as needed Keep the maintenance shop, tools, and work areas clean and organized Make sure tools and equipment are returned to their proper locations Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE Assist field crews or perform other maintenance-related duties when needed Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management Requirements Must have a valid driver's license Must be dependable and show up on time Must be mechanically inclined and comfortable working with tools Must be able to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and working underneath equipment Must be able to work independently and complete assigned tasks Must be able to follow written maintenance procedures and safety rules Must be able to communicate with drivers and management regarding equipment problems Must be willing to get dirty and work in a shop/service environment Must be willing to pass a drug screen Preferred Experience Previous experience with diesel trucks, heavy equipment, automotive repair, fleet maintenance, welding, fabrication, hydraulics, electrical systems, or general mechanical work is preferred. Schedule Full-time position. Overtime and occasional after-hours work may be required depending on equipment and repair needs.

Pay:

$18.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 48.0 per week
