Maintenance (full-time) Job Summary Responsible for the installation, upkeep, and repair of various pieces of equipment and machinery, in addition to building structure and integrity when applicable. Report to Maintenance Manager. Performance Dimensions and Tasks Time Spent (%) 1. Communicate 20% Monitor department operations and respond to reports of equipment malfunction or disruption. Display necessary signs and barriers in work zones to prevent traffic and promote safety. Contact equipment and machine makers to schedule inspection and repair when necessary. Contact contractors to schedule and manage projects as needed. Ask questions when appropriate. Work with contractors when on-site and as needed. Collaborate with other employees to move and relocate equipment as needed. 2. Equipment 20% Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and inspect problems. Inspect and test damaged parts. Mark damaged areas and inform Production or Plant Manager of repair needs. Dismantle machines using hands tools or other assets as needed. Reassemble machines after repair or maintenance. Install, replace, or repair machine parts or equipment according to production specifications. Adjust equipment settings to regulate operation. Move and relocate equipment and tools using forklifts, dollies, maintenance carts, and skates. 4. Coordination 10% Position maintenance personnel into appropriate roles to provide area coverage and performance efficiency. Use experience to assist maintenance personnel as needed and use observation to help direct and prioritize upkeep and repair needs across the facility. 5. Maintain 20% Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what type of maintenance is necessary. Watch gauges, dials and other indicators to inspect integrity of equipment. Conduct tests of equipment to determine efficiency. 6. Organize 15% Record production, repair, and machine maintenance. Develop goals and plans to prioritize and strategize projects. Maintain necessary documentation. Schedule contractor and support visitation. 7. Protection 10% Utilize protective clothing and equipment as needed to prevent injury to self or others. Follow safety guidelines to prevent area or equipment damage. 8. Ordering 5% Acquire necessary parts and equipment by communicating through proper company channels to have them ordered. Gain order approval prior to any purchasing requests. 9. Learn 10% Grow skill set and job knowledge by learning from higher level techs. Observe skill gaps and request training and assistance when dealing with new tasks. 10. Training 5% Use experience to train new personnel to perform the basic functions of the job.
