Maintenance Mechanic Job Responsibilities:

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on production machinery and equipment.

Respond quickly to equipment issues and help minimize production downtime.

Troubleshoot mechanical and equipment problems and identify appropriate solutions.

Follow repair priorities and schedules to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Remove unsafe equipment from service until repairs are completed.

Assist with general facility and grounds maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, dock equipment, and related systems.

Coordinate maintenance and repairs for material-handling equipment, including forklifts.

Maintain parts inventory and help ensure necessary repair parts and supplies are available.

Assist with purchasing maintenance supplies and repair parts as needed.

Work collaboratively with production and maintenance personnel.

Work variable shifts as needed.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Maintenance Mechanic Job Qualifications:

Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

General understanding of maintenance processes and repair methods.

Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed written and verbal instructions.

Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with employees across departments.

Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.

Reliable and dependable attendance.

Must be able to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, reaching, bending, kneeling, and working in confined or awkward positions.

Must be able to safely handle tools and equipment and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Ability to work in hot or cold conditions and other industrial environments.
