A Building and General Maintenance Technician performs building maintenance and appliance repairs for an apartment complex, housing division, residential center or business, as directed by a property manager.
Farm Hand / Maintenance Technician - This position is on-site 5 days a week (Mon - Fri) in Franklin, TN.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and trustworthy Farm Hand / Maintenance Technician to handle the maintenance and upkeep of farm grounds, equipment, buildings, and horses. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the property is maintained to the highest standards while demonstrating discretion, professionalism, and a commitment to confidentiality. The ideal candidate will have experience operating and maintaining a wide variety of lawn care, groundskeeping, and farm equipment, along with general property maintenance skills and, ideally, horse care experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Groundskeeping & Lawn Care Operate commercial lawn mowers, zero-turn mowers, tractors, weed eaters, blowers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, and other landscaping equipment. Maintain lawns, fields, gardens, landscaping, trails, and common areas. Perform mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, mulching, leaf removal, weed control, and seasonal property maintenance. Monitor and maintain irrigation systems as needed. Maintain overall appearance and cleanliness of the property. Farm Equipment Operation & Maintenance Safely operate tractors, utility vehicles, trailers, and other farm equipment. Perform routine inspections, and handle arranging servicing, and preventative maintenance on all equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and coordinate repairs when necessary. Assist with hauling materials, moving equipment, and general farm projects. Horse Care Feed horses according to established schedules and guidelines. Monitor horse health and report concerns promptly. Clean stalls, refill water sources, and maintain feeding areas. Assist with turnout, pasture management, and general daily horse care. Ensure barns and horse facilities remain clean, safe, and organized. Building & Property Maintenance Perform general maintenance and minor repairs on barns, fencing, gates, outbuildings, and residential structures. Inspect buildings and grounds regularly to identify maintenance needs. Assist with seasonal maintenance, storm cleanup, and special projects. General Estate Support Maintain property security and report unusual activity or concerns. Assist with deliveries, vendor coordination, and occasional family requests. Support special events or projects as needed. Demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying and resolving property maintenance needs.
Qualifications:
Required Experience Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in farm, ranch, estate, groundskeeping, landscaping, or similar property maintenance roles. Proven experience operating and maintaining commercial lawn care equipment and farm machinery. Experience providing daily care for horses ideal but not required. Experience performing general building and property maintenance repairs. Valid driver's license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Check. Knowledge & Skills Strong understanding of lawn care, landscaping, and grounds maintenance practices. Ability to safely operate tractors, mowers, utility vehicles, and other farm equipment. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment. Knowledge of horse feeding, care, and basic health monitoring ideal. Basic skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical labor throughout the day.
