Job Description

Part-Time General Maintenance / Handyman Store Safe is looking for a dependable, practical person to help with general repairs and upkeep at our Baton Rouge and Gonzales properties. This is a hands-on part-time role for someone who is good at fixing things, using tools, troubleshooting simple problems and handling a variety of everyday maintenance jobs. You do not need to be licensed in a trade or have formal facilities-maintenance experience. We are more interested in finding someone who is handy, reliable, organized and willing to figure things out.
Typical responsibilities include:
General repairs and odd jobs at both properties Basic plumbing repairs such as toilets, faucets, drains and small leaks Minor electrical tasks such as lights, switches and fixtures when appropriate Repairing doors, locks, gates, fencing and hardware Basic roller-door and self-storage door repairs Sheet-metal, trim and exterior-building repairs Drywall patching, painting and minor carpentry Sprinkler and irrigation repairs Pressure washing and exterior cleaning Changing HVAC filters and clearing drain lines Identifying obvious HVAC problems and knowing when a contractor is needed Basic swimming-pool maintenance Mosquito spraying and rodent-bait replacement Helping with gate or access-control issues Keeping tools, supplies and maintenance areas organized Keeping track of jobs that need to be completed and communicating what has been finished Occasional maintenance and odd jobs at the owner's residence What we are looking for: Comfortable using hand tools and power tools Good practical problem-solving skills Willing to handle a variety of different jobs Dependable and able to work independently Organized and able to keep track of maintenance tasks Comfortable working outdoors and using ladders when needed Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Able to travel between Baton Rouge and Gonzales You do not need experience in every area listed above. A handyman, construction, remodeling, apartment-maintenance, general-repair or similar background could be a good fit. Schedule This is a part-time position, generally 16-24 hours per week over 2-3 days . Most work will be completed during normal daytime hours. Because our properties operate 24/7, there may occasionally be an urgent maintenance issue outside the normal schedule. After-hours or weekend call-outs are expected to be rare and will receive additional call-out compensation Application Question(s): Are you able to reliably travel between Baton Rouge and Gonzales for work? Are you comfortable working outdoors, using ladders, and performing normal physical maintenance work? Are you interested in a long-term part-time position of approximately 16-24 hours per week, with rare after-hours/weekend call-outs if needed?
