POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Mechanic position requires comprehensive knowledge, education, and department experience while demonstrating leadership abilities within the maintenance department. The position is tied to continuing education and learning different trades to continue to enhance technical competence within the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Read and understand technical information or data points; demonstrate solid mathematical skills
  • Trouble shoot machines; installs controllers and counters and AC-DC motor control
  • Order new or replacement maintenance parts following C. L. Rieckhoff Co., Inc. ordering process
  • Maintain maintenance records and manuals
  • Repair and build guards using gas welding/cutting and milling machines
  • Use pipe threading machine to cut and thread pipe; make die changes to threader
  • Knowledgeable of high and low pressure systems
  • Rebuild valves, cylinders, pumps, air tools and paint spray guns
  • Trouble shoot hydraulic systems, including repair or replacement of hydraulic valves and pumps, replace or repair broken gear boxes, re-engineer problem machines, design changes done to equipment, knowledge of rigging
  • Service tow motors and electric forklifts which includes maintaining battery charges, belts, horns, lights, wiring, tires, and hoses
  • Maintain or repair the boiler/compressor, roof, and HVAC systems
  • Start various pumps, compressors, blowers, chillers, presses to ensure production can begin at any given time
  • May be assigned duties included in other trade classifications
  • Must be responsible for observing all safety rules and regulations
  • Tools and equipment utilized but not limited to: welding equipment, cutting equipment, standard hand tools, pneumatic/power tools, drill press, milling machine, lathe, hoists, forklift, hydraulic lift tables, basic carpenter tools, metal shearer, basic mechanical tools, man lift, electric meters/PLC
  • Work with and find specialists to repair equipment and parts that require specialized knowledge
  • Daily preventative maintenance on pertinent C.
L. Rieckhoff Co., Inc. equipment
REQUIREMENTS
(including educational requirements) High School diploma or equivalent At least eight years related experience and 3 years in a manufacturing plant environment Willingness to attend classes and/or seminars on new technology or maintenance related skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize Ability to work flexible hours in a 24/7 manufacturing operation Ability to participate on teams in safety, quality, and process improvement.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Perform work within maintenance department based on business needs. This includes performing duties on presses and other equipment
  • Ability to reach, bend, lift, and push objects weighing 3-75 lbs. on a continuous basis for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to carry/transport material with the dimensions of: 12"x12", 25"x25", 3' length, and 9' length
