Job Description

Position Summary The Maintenance Person is responsible for keeping Erdman's facilities, shop equipment, and grounds in safe, reliable working order across all company locations. This role performs routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, and supports production by minimizing equipment downtime and keeping the work environment clean and safe. Responsibilities & Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in facilities or industrial maintenance
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair shop equipment such as compressors, forklifts, overhead cranes, and material handling equipment
  • Comfortable working at heights, in tight spaces, and around industrial machinery
  • Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a forklift (or willingness to become certified) ■ DOT certification
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to track maintenance activity and parts usage across multiple locations
  • Track all vehicle and equipment repairs
  • All work performed should follow local and state building codes and all company safety regulations Duties Include but Are Not Limited To
  • Performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and overhead doors
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining shop equipment such as compressors, forklifts, overhead cranes, and material handling equipment
  • Responding promptly to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime
  • Performing basic electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs
  • Escalating specialized or code-required work to licensed contractors as needed
  • Maintaining a running log of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used for each piece of equipment or building system ■ Including all company vehicles ■ DOT updates logged and monitored
  • Monitoring spare parts and supplies needed for ongoing maintenance work, including: ■ Communicating reorder needs to purchasing
  • Supporting facility housekeeping, including snow removal, grounds upkeep, and general building cleanliness
  • Assisting with the setup, relocation, and installation of shop equipment and machinery as production needs change
  • Coordinating with and overseeing outside contractors and vendors performing repairs, inspections, or installations on-site
  • Maintaining fire suppression, emergency lighting, and other life-safety systems in coordination with required inspection schedules Back-Up Responsibilities
  • Delivering materials between all buildings
  • Supporting the Parts Department as needed ■ Getting inventory from plant 3 ■ Crate building Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 75 lbs. occasionally with assistance
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, climb, and work in various physical positions for extended periods
  • Ability to work at heights using ladders or lifts, and in confined spaces when required
  • Safe operation of a forklift and other material handling equipment Key Skills & Attributes

Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
