Responsibilities Carry out preventative maintenance and complete all related documentation Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment using a "final task" methodology, fixing the root issue rather than a temporary patch Support project work, including equipment upgrades, modifications, and new installations Assist line and machine operators with equipment issues Complete documentation and research for root cause analysis when needed Uphold maintenance's role in the site HACCP program alongside other departments Adapt and work effectively in a fast-changing environment Requirements 5+ years as a full-time maintenance mechanic or in a related role Food manufacturing maintenance experience Strong mechanical and electrical skills Welding and mechanical power transmission experience Facility and utility support equipment experience or training Refrigeration and/or ammonia refrigeration experience or training Able to read and understand prints HS diploma or GED required; two-year technical degree in a maintenance-related field preferred, or equivalent certified technical training and experience Solid shop math: whole numbers, fractions, decimals, rates, ratios, and percentages across all units of measure; able to read and interpret bar graphs Able to read and understand safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and write routine reports Able to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions and work through problems with several variables
