PAY RANGE

$20-21.50/hr Job Description As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating production and packaging equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures. You will work collaboratively with team members, maintenance, quality, and supervision to meet production goals and support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing efforts. Responsibilities Operate production and packaging equipment according to SOPs. Collaborate with team members, maintenance, quality, and supervision to achieve production goals. Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives. Set up, monitor, and adjust machinery for consistent product quality and efficiency. Assist with changeovers, minor troubleshooting, and routine equipment cleaning. Identify and report equipment issues, product defects, or safety concerns. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Perform routine quality checks and document results accurately. Follow GMPs, HACCP, food safety, and sanitation requirements. Complete required production, downtime, safety, and sanitation documentation. Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements. Essential Skills Experience in machine operation and production. Mechanically inclined with a minimum of 6 months experience. Ability to lift up to 50 lb boxes/ingredients. Machine operating experience, preferably in food/chemical manufacturing. Troubleshooting mechanical machinery issues. Experience with changeovers and minimizing downtime. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong attention to detail and quality. Basic math, reading, and documentation skills. Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn production equipment. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Safety-focused mindset with strong accountability. Dependable, punctual, and adaptable to changing production needs. Ownership mindset to take on tasks and present concerns and updates to management. Food manufacturing experience preferred. No jewelry or facial piercings are allowed, and attire should include pants covering ankles and shirts with sleeves. The company provides steel-toed shoes. The culture emphasizes continuous improvement, with engineers onsite to upgrade and improve processes. The team size is 5-6 people per line, with up to 7 different lines on one shift, making it suitable for both independent and group-oriented individuals. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Affton, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
