Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and skilled Building Maintenance Technician to ensure the optimal operation, safety, and appearance of our facilities. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of building systems and equipment, supporting a safe and comfortable environment for all occupants. Your expertise in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and facilities maintenance will be vital to keeping our operations running smoothly. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a dynamic setting while contributing to the overall excellence of our facility management. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC units, building interior surfaces, and facilities equipment to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, plumbing systems, HVAC systems, and mechanical components using schematics, hand tools, multimeters such as ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools. Conduct welding and carpentry tasks as needed for repairs or upgrades within the facility. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and update work orders promptly. Assist with maintenance painting projects to uphold the aesthetic standards of the building interior and exterior. Supervise or coordinate with team members during complex repair projects or renovations, ensuring safety protocols are followed. Respond swiftly to emergency repairs related to electrical issues, plumbing leaks, HVAC failures or other urgent building needs while providing excellent customer service to occupants and stakeholders. Experience Proven experience in facilities maintenance or building repair roles with a strong background in electrical work, plumbing, HVAC system repair, carpentry, welding, and mechanical troubleshooting. Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams for accurate diagnostics and repairs. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical equipment repair, maintenance painting, and MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) procedures. Knowledge of CMMS software for work order management and maintenance tracking. Supervising experience is preferred for leadership roles involving team coordination or project oversight. Ability to read blueprints and schematics confidently; experience with electrical work including use of tools like ohmmeters is essential. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high safety standards.
