Duties Install, hang, and align commercial doors including glass, metal, and wood varieties using hand tools and power tools. Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and building plans to ensure precise installation. Conduct fabrication tasks such as trimming, framing, drywall finishing, caulking, and fixture or cabinet installation to prepare openings for door installation. Perform mechanical repairs and adjustments on door hardware, locks, hinges, and automatic door systems to ensure proper operation. Use welding equipment when necessary for metal door fabrication or reinforcement projects. Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations during all phases of installation and repair work. Assist with remodeling projects involving metal stud framing, drywall installation, trim carpentry, electrical work, and locksmithing as needed. Operate heavy machinery and power tools safely to complete projects efficiently on construction sites or within existing structures. Interact professionally with clients to provide excellent customer service by explaining work processes and addressing concerns promptly. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and project progress for quality assurance. Requirements Proven experience in construction trades with a focus on door installation or related fields such as carpentry or remodeling. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics reading. Ability to lift heavy materials safely and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday. Knowledge of building code compliance standards relevant to commercial door systems and hardware installations. Familiarity with glass installation techniques along with general construction site experience. Basic electrical experience for troubleshooting automatic doors or related systems is preferred but not required. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately. Willingness to travel between job sites as needed.
