Job Description

  • Job Title: Maintenance Technician
  • Job Description
  • We are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Technician with a high school diploma or equivalent and over three years of experience as an electrician in an industrial environment.

A Journeyman Electrician license is preferred. The ideal candidate should have previous experience working with PLCs and a deep understanding of 3-phase electrical systems and troubleshooting procedures up to 460VAC. Strong knowledge in motor controls, AC and DC Drive systems, and PLC controls is essential.

  • Responsibilities
  • + Utilize expertise in electrical systems, focusing on 3-phase electrical systems and troubleshooting procedures up to 460VAC.

+ Operate and maintain PLCs with a focus on Allen Bradley and Modicon systems.

+ Handle motor controls and AC/DC drive systems efficiently.

+ Operate overhead cranes, man lifts, and fork trucks safely.

+ Collaborate with a small team of maintenance technicians and a supervisor to ensure smooth operations.

+ Maintain alertness and focus while being detail-oriented in all tasks.

+ Adhere to all company policies, including attendance.

+ Demonstrate flexibility by working overtime as needed.

+ Engage in critical thinking and problem-solving for effective maintenance solutions.

+ Carry out strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions, including lifting heavy objects and standing for long periods.

  • Essential Skills
  • + High school diploma or equivalent.

+ 3+ years of experience as an electrician in an industrial environment.

+ In-depth understanding of 3-phase electrical systems and troubleshooting procedures up to 460VAC.

+ Strong knowledge of motor controls, AC and DC Drive systems, and PLC controls.

+ Experience operating overhead cranes, man lifts, and fork trucks.

+ Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.

+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Journeyman Electrician license preferred. + Previous experience with PLCs, specifically Allen Bradley and Modicon. + Critical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills. + Self-motivated, self-directed, and can work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Work Environment
  • The position is situated in a manufacturing and warehouse setting, working with a small team of maintenance technicians and a supervisor. Openings are available for both 1st shift (6am - 4:30pm) and 2nd shift (4:30pm - 3am). The dress code includes jeans or work pants and steel-toed boots. The company manufactures sheet metal and ships to the Ford plant in North KC.

  • This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO.
  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $22.

00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
