Job Description

Maintenance Technician Randolph Packing Co. (a Harpley's Company) is seeking a maintenance technician. This position is responsible for the upkeep and repair of our facility to ensure it remains safe, functional, and presentable. This role requires a diverse set of skills to handle a variety of tasks. Job summary The maintenance technician will perform routine maintenance, corrective repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks on buildings, grounds, and equipment. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential problems and a versatile skill set to address minor and major repairs across various building systems.
Responsibilities Inspections:
Conduct routine checks of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and equipment to identify and diagnose issues.
Repairs and upkeep:
Perform minor repairs and maintenance on plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. This can include fixing leaky faucets, replacing lightbulbs and faulty switches, and changing filters.
Equipment and machinery:
Assemble and set up new equipment, and perform routine preventative maintenance on existing mechanical equipment.
Work orders and records:
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner, and keep detailed records of all repair and maintenance work performed.
Safety and compliance:
Follow all safety rules and building codes, and ensure that safety equipment is in working order.
Inventory management:
Monitor and control the inventory of maintenance supplies, and order new parts and equipment as needed.
Collaboration:
Work with other team members, facility managers, or outside contractors on larger or more complex projects. Skills and qualifications
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years experience as a maintenance worker or in a related field is required.
Technical knowledge:
Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Knowledge of carpentry is a plus.
Physical stamina:
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as standing for long periods, bending, lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and working in various weather conditions.
Manual dexterity:
Proficiency with a variety of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Troubleshooting:
Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose the cause of equipment failures or other issues.
Attention to detail:
A keen eye for detail is important for conducting thorough inspections and performing tasks correctly.
Communication:
Effective communication skills to interact with supervisors, and co-workers.
Time management:
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in order of importance. HVAC experience preferred Work environment
Location:
Work will be performed indoors and outdoors as needed.
Conditions:
At times working in cramped or uncomfortable positions, and exposure to loud noises, chemicals, fumes, and other environmental factors.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
