We have a great opportunity for a Mechanical Technician lead that has experience with Maintenance/Mechanical repairs and continuous improvement working in a manufacturing facility. What we do at StarPet is produce PET polymers for manufacturing bottles and sheets and specialize in the Performance PET Resins. The company has achieved ISO certifications in quality, health and safety, environment, energy, and food safety. It is a part of Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited, which is one of the largest polyester chain producers in the world. The company serves clients in the health care, automotive, textile, and food and beverage industries. Summary This person would work with a team that is responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting of the chemical facility that operates 24/7. The ideal candidate will have prior experience leading teammates and collaborating with management. Job Description Desired hands-on working experience on compressors, heat exchangers, sealing & lubrication systems, underwater strand granulators, agitator's chillers, fuel fired furnace heaters, gear boxes /bearings, rotary valves and similar mechanical / process equipment, centrifugal pumps and mechanical seals, process reactors etc. Requires problem solving, root cause analysis, project coordination and presentation skills. The ability to read and understand vendor technical specifications and documents, complex P&ID's, equipment mechanical drawings, and vendor/consultant analysis. Should be able to work with the process engineers to understand the priorities required for the proper operation of the plant. Planning, installation, and maintenance activities for all the automated machinery including process machines and utilities. Utilize precision measuring tools/devices, hand tools and testing instruments Other jobs as assigned by management Desired Skills High School Diploma/GED/ associate's degree in engineering a plus Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a industrial operating plant. Above average computer skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills Must be able to lift a minimum of Fifty (50) pounds and push-pull one hundred (100) pounds. Welding (Stick, TIG and MIG) a plus Must be able to read Blueprints, Technical Manuals and IPB's. Must have a working knowledge of hand and specialty tools. Be able to climb ladders, work in confined spaces Forklift experience Ability to support a twenty-four seven plant operation. Responsible for individual safety and supporting plant safety programs. Follow guidelines in the Quality System Management and Environmental Management System. Schedule Monday - Friday 8am-4pm
