Fletcher Requirement Overview Reporting to the Engineering Manager - Maintenance, these positions involve the engineering support to running of extrusion machines, and any other tasking associated with the meeting of our production requirements as directed. We focus on a safe working environment, so the Engineer is expected to both comply with all Safety, Health and Quality Policies but act as a role model and leader to others in doing so. Experience in a similar manufacturing environment is preferred but training will be given. The positions work as part of production teams and an ability and willingness to learn contribute and work effectively to meet the goals of the team and operation are essential Working as a member of the engineering team, you will develop plant reliability and operational capability by executing robust maintenance strategies and expediently resolving plant issues and breakdowns, to ensure plant downtime is kept to a minimum. They will demonstrate a logical approach to problem solving, demonstrate fast paced decision making, and use their technical background routinely across a wide and varied equipment and technology base. Most of the time is spent in a very busy Extrusion factory environment. The incumbent will be working within a small team of Technicians and Operators and being responsible for the running and maintaining of the extrusion lines onsite, the correct candidate should be able to demonstrate the following Role and Responsibilities Adhere to the company health safety environmental and quality policies and industry standards To undertake planned preventative and predictive maintenance activities, with due consideration for safe plant operations and product quality. To review and enhance maintenance systems and procedures. Routinely undertake continuous improvement activities to develop plant capability and equipment reliability. To participate in plant improvements, modifications, and capital investment projects. Act as a subject matter expert on designated plant, equipment, and technologies. The successful candidate must be familiar with extrusion process machinery or equivalent equipment. Follow hierarchy of controls as laid out in the company risk assessments for various tasks to be carried out as required Any other ad hoc duties as requested by the Production manager/Plant Leaders. Pro-actively helping with solutions to improve production Liaising with Plant Leaders regarding any outstanding tasking within production and actively participating in their resolution. Engineers are required to ensure that the production area and all pertaining to it is always kept clean and hazard free. Person Specification The successful candidates will need to demonstrate on a sustained basis in their employment the following. A high standard of proficiency in maintenance and repair of production equipment. Knowledge of PLC Control Systems Welding/fabrication and toolmaking/machining (Manual and CNC) Air Hydraulics and pneumatics trained IEE 18th Edition desirable Diagnostic and problem-solving skills Proactive and dynamic approach to safety Strong technical leadership skills Ability to work under pressure whilst having a high attention to detail Track record of experience in a multiskilled maintenance role, undertaking repair, maintenance and testing in a similar production environment. Fault finding and problem-solving capabilities Solid understanding of mechanics, extruders, electrics, and the ability to read and understand schematics including fault finding and diagnosis. Read and implement engineering drawings Excellent verbal and written communications skills Experience in tooling and extrusion line fault finding Understanding and adherence in following both written and verbal work instructions. To communicate clearly with existing and potential external partners and to other staff at Emtelle, in respect to activities processes and methodologies employed in the department. Highly self-motivated, disciplined and organised. Time Management, they will deliver a high and sustained standard of attendance and timekeeping. Able to work effectively in a physically demanding environment. Able and willing to commit to working shift patterns and also overtime as required. These will be continental patterns rotating from day to night. Focused on cost management.
