This position is responsible for performing preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance on residential units and housing authority facilities. Work includes carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, appliance repair, grounds maintenance, and other building system repairs necessary to maintain safe and functional housing environments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Repair or replace damaged walls and ceilings resulting from leaks or structural issues.
- Repair and install windows, screens, doors, storm doors, railings, siding, gutters, downspouts, vents, and roofing components.
- Repair or replace plumbing fixtures including sinks, commodes, valves, and piping.
- Unclog kitchen or bathroom drains and sewer lines.
- Prepare and paint interior and exterior building surfaces.
- Repair and clean appliances including stoves, refrigerators, furnaces, hot water tanks, and air conditioning equipment.
- Repair or replace electrical fixtures such as switches, receptacles, circuit breakers, fans, and lighting fixtures.
- Maintain and repair residential heating and cooling systems including filters, controls, and blower motors.
- Perform grounds maintenance including lawn care, debris removal, trimming, and landscaping.
- Operate lawn equipment such as mowers, trimmers, edgers, and blowers safely and effectively.
- Install or repair locks, cabinets, shelving, flooring, molding, curtain rods, and related hardware.
- Prepare vacant units for occupancy including repairs, tear-outs, and final cleaning.
- Assist management with development of janitorial, groundskeeping, or maintenance contract specifications.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; trade school certificate desirable.
- Minimum three (3) years of building maintenance or repair experience.
- Experience performing carpentry, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment, lawn equipment, and hand tools.
- Ability to read and maintain written records of work performed and materials used.
- Ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and contractors.
Pay:
$29.08 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per weekBenefits:
