Job Summary:
Performs routine building maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures. Assists in a wide variety of maintenance activities; addresses immediate operational and/or safety concerns; and ensures that tools, materials and vehicles are maintained in good working order. Performs activities under direct supervision. We are looking for a talented Facilities Technician to join our Distribution business in (North Las Vegas, NV). Will make an impact in the following ways: Complete facility and grounds maintenance activities, including minor repairs, painting, drywall, lighting, flooring, and plumbing. Coordinate preventative, reactive, and planned maintenance work using maintenance tracking systems. Support service center operations by operating forklifts, powered equipment, and company vehicles as required. Manage facility supplies, purchase orders, spare parts inventory, and vendor relationships. Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies and support facility compliance initiatives. In order to be successful in this role you will need the following: Experience performing general facility, building, or grounds maintenance activities. Ability to troubleshoot and coordinate basic electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and facility-related repairs. Proficiency using basic computer applications, email, and Microsoft Office products. Strong organizational skills with experience managing multiple assignments and priorities. Valid CDL required with a clean driving record meeting DOT and FMCSA requirements. Experience operating forklifts, material handling equipment, and commercial vehicles preferred. Basic truck, engine, or service shop knowledge is beneficial. This role will report directly to the General Manager. Must have Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Will be expected to test customer vehicles after service work has been completed and as required. Pick up and deliver parts to field service teams as required. Pick up and deliver customer vehicles as required. Basic truck and engine knowledge / experience will be beneficial. Will have to be able to drive and use forklifts in the service yard and parts warehouse. Candidate will be trained and certified on forklift usage. Previous experience will be beneficial. Support Health and Safety Champion with any action following their facility compliance inspections. Work with building vendors and own facilities assignments from GM until completion, while keeping General Manager informed on progress. Basic IT knowledge / experience will be beneficial to support facility requests from corporate IT teams. Basic PC literature required. Emails and basic Microsoft Office experience. Purchase order creation. A current valid CDL is required for this role. This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free of major violations This role is subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing requirements and on going random drug and alcohol testing This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
Experience:
Minimal or no work experience required. Compensation and Benefits Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
