10/02/2026 The Spencerport School District is currently accepting applications for a Maintenance Mechanic II. Applicants will be reviewed and selected candidates will be contacted for an interview. Applicants must be fingerprinted and cleared for employment for the NYS Education Department before employment begins.

Civil Service:

This is a Civil Service non-competitive class position and the successful candidate must meet all Civil Service requirements for employment by the Spencerport Central School District.

Duties:

This position works in the facilities department and operates trucks, riding/push lawnmowers, snowplows, and other motorized equipment; performs mechanical repairs on outdoor equipment including tractors, lawnmowers, snow removal and other motorized equipment; performs grounds maintenance work, lawn cutting and maintenance, and ice and snow treatment and removal; other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications:

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus one (1) year of experience as a skilled worker in one or more of the more of the electrical, mechanical or construction trades. New York State CDL license within six months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in maintenance of electrical systems, mechanical repair on automobiles, trucks, tractors and other mechanical and motorized equipment, as well as a general facilities maintenance practices and procedures.

Appointment:

Full-time (8 hours per day), 12 months. Monday-Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM

Salary/Rate of Pay:

Starting at $23.45 per hour, based on previous experience
