Part-Time Maintenance Handyman - Job Summary Swan Lake Adult Home is seeking a dependable and experienced part-time maintenance handyman to help maintain our residential adult care facility. We are looking for someone who can handle routine repairs, identify building concerns and help coordinate larger repairs when an outside contractor is needed.

Responsibilities include:

Minor plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, drains and leaks Minor electrical work, such as replacing outlets, switches and light fixtures Basic carpentry, including repairing doors, cabinets, trim and furniture Painting, wall patching and general building repairs Performing routine maintenance and responding to repair requests Identifying safety or maintenance concerns before they become larger problems Obtaining estimates and coordinating qualified contractors for specialized or larger repairs, with approval from the Administrator Keeping tools, supplies and work areas organized Assisting with occasional outdoor or seasonal maintenance Minor roof patching, gutter cleaning and basic exterior maintenance, when safe and within the employee's experience

Qualifications:

Previous handyman, maintenance, construction or property-management experience Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs Ability to determine which repairs can be completed in-house and which require a qualified contractor Dependable, responsible and able to work independently Good problem-solving and communication skills Respectful and comfortable working around adult residents and staff Reliable transportation

Schedule:

Approximately 10-20 hours per week. Some flexibility is available based on the facility's needs and the applicant's availability.
