Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking a skilled and dependable Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to support commercial properties throughout the Troy, NY area. This position is responsible for performing preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, and completing general building and grounds maintenance across multiple customer locations. The technician will be provided with a company vehicle and tools and will travel locally between customer sites. The ideal candidate has experience across multiple building trades and takes pride in providing professional workmanship and excellent customer service. Maintenance Technician Job Responsibilities Perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance according to work orders and company procedures. Troubleshoot and repair building systems, equipment, and general facility issues. Perform minor plumbing repairs, including: Toilets and urinals Valves and valve assemblies Faucets and fixtures Automatic flush sensors Unclogging and routine plumbing maintenance Perform routine carpentry and general maintenance, including drywall repairs, patching, painting, and touch-ups. Maintain walls, floors, doors, and other facility components to keep customer properties in like-new condition. Perform minor electrical repairs permitted under applicable state laws, including fixtures, switches, outlets, bulbs, ballasts, and sockets. Complete service inspections and asset inspections as needed. Use tablets, smartphones, and company systems to: Access and complete work orders Document services performed Submit service reports Upload quality inspection photos and reports Submit timesheets and expense reports Maintain purchase card documentation Obtain materials and supplies necessary to complete assigned work. Communicate professionally and consistently with customers and internal support teams. Build positive customer relationships and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. Complete required safety and compliance training and participate in weekly safety meetings. Provide estimates for larger projects and additional services when needed. Respond to emergency, preventative, and routine maintenance needs. Follow all applicable OSHA standards, safety policies, building codes, and regulatory requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Maintenance Technician Qualifications High school diploma, degree, certification, or equivalent professional experience preferred. 2-5 years of general maintenance experience , including minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience in commercial facility services is highly preferred. Experience with building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems . Ability to troubleshoot and perform day-to-day repairs and preventative maintenance. Applicable trade certifications or licenses are preferred. Valid driver's license in good standing required. Ability to read and understand safety policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete routine reports and communicate effectively with customers and team members. Comfortable using tablets, smartphones, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and other business systems. Strong understanding of OSHA requirements and workplace safety practices. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple work orders and customer locations. Professional appearance, communication skills, and customer-service mindset. Ability to travel daily between multiple properties. Location Requirement Candidates must live within a 20-mile radius of Troy, NY.
