Job Description
Facilities and Machine Maintenance Timber Creek, an FCA Packaging Brand $24-28/hr United States, Ohio, Clayton Sep 09, 2026 Custom Packaging Solutions. Designed. Built. Managed. FCA Packaging creates and manufactures innovative wood packaging solutions. Our builders manufacture wood pallets, boxes, and crates, and we are looking for a Maintenance Technician for our Clayton, OH facility.
Pay:
$24-$28/hour
Schedule:
7:00 AM-3:00 PM, Monday-Friday, with overtime as needed
Overview:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment and facility systems to keep our manufacturing operation running safely and efficiently. This position requires hands-on experience with industrial machinery, mechanical systems, power tools, hydraulics, and basic electrical systems. When maintenance work is not required, this position will assist the production team with manufacturing operations and other facility needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and production equipment
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues involving motors, bearings, belts, chains, conveyors, and other machine components
Work with hydraulic systems and troubleshoot hydraulic components and equipment
Apply basic electrical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment and identify electrical issues
Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively
Build, assemble, modify, and install equipment, fixtures, structures, and other projects as needed
Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and work to return machines to operation safely and efficiently
Assist with machine installations, modifications, improvements, and repairs
Conduct regular facility inspections and identify maintenance, safety, and repair needs
Perform general building and facility upkeep, including repairs and improvements
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance area and work environment
Maintain appropriate maintenance records and communicate equipment issues to management
Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements
Assist production employees and perform production duties when maintenance work is not required
Work overtime as needed, particularly during equipment breakdowns or when extended repairs are necessary to return critical machinery to operation
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or a similar hands-on role
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery
- Working knowledge of hydraulics and mechanical systems
- Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance equipment
- Ability to read and follow equipment manuals, diagrams, drawings, and written instructions
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to diagnose problems and determine appropriate repair solutions
- Ability to work independently while also working effectively with the production team
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime when needed
- Bilingual skills are preferred, but not required Education and/or Experience A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Technical training, vocational education, or certifications in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical systems, or a related field are a plus.
- At least 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or a similar hands-on maintenance role is preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and hands-on experience may be considered. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, equipment manuals, safety instructions, and maintenance documentation in English.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management and production employees.
- Bilingual skills are preferred, but not required.
- Professional communication is required. Mathematical Skills Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and measurements.
- Ability to use basic math skills when troubleshooting equipment, measuring materials, and completing maintenance tasks. Computer Skills Basic computer skills are required.
- Ability to enter maintenance information, complete records, and use basic computer systems and software as needed. Reasoning Ability Ability to identify mechanical and equipment problems and determine appropriate solutions.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems independently and make sound decisions in situations where immediate repairs are needed.
- Ability to interpret written instructions, equipment manuals, diagrams, schedules, and verbal directions.
