Must have 2 years of general maintenance experience. Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language. Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Must be able to push, pull or lift 50 pounds regularly and over 100 pounds occasionally. Must have the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc. Must have a valid state driver's license. Must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel as well as be willing to handle residents based at whatever behavior or acuity level they are currently functioning. Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the facility. Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace. Must be able to maintain regular attendance Must be up to date with required vaccinations. As a Maintenance Team Member you can expect to: Performs routine maintenance and repairs of the facility and equipment, including, but not limited to, painting, plumbing, grounds keeping, electrical wiring and carpentry, observing all safety standards and policies. Performs limited troubleshooting within scope of abilities. Performs preventive maintenance duties including but not limited to filter changes, checking of safety equipment or lubrication of motors, etc. Meets and coordinates with contracted vendors in troubleshooting, repairs or inspections in regard to planned or preventative maintenance.
Examples:
- Fire sprinklers inspections, elevator contractors, etc. As needed performs housekeeping duties around building perimeter. Participates fully in the Community's Emergency and Disaster Plan, including assisting in the evacuation of residents during emergencies. Rotates as 'on-call' maintenance after hours and weekends. Carries cell phone for emergency conditions as assigned and responds immediately when called. Performs all duties in a safe manner and wears all recommended or required Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to eye, ear and skin protections. Drives company vehicles sometimes with trailers when required. Reports all incidents and accidents to managers and/or supervisors. Attends in-service educational sessions, continuing educational programs and other meetings as required. Possess outstanding customer service skills to customers and team members.
