Mechanic/Facility Maintenance Description Eastern Oklahoma State College is a comprehensive community college providing instruction in a wide range of curricula.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required. Excellent communication skills, will report to the Director of Maintenance. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in mechanical maintenance, facility maintenance, automotive repair, equipment maintenance, or a closely related field. Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required, with an acceptable driving record. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment and mechanical problems. Experience safely operating hand tools, power tools, vehicles, and mechanical equipment. Experience maintaining institutional, commercial, municipal, school, or college facilities. Experience working with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, welding, automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment systems. The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting. The employee may be required to life and move equipment, tools, materials, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier items with assistance or appropriate equipment. Eastern Oklahoma State College Responsibilities:

Operate College vehicles requiring a CDL in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and College regulations. Safely transport College employees, students, athletic teams, equipment, supplies, materials, and other authorized passengers as assigned. Conduct required vehicle inspections and report mechanical or safety concerns. Maintain required driver logs and other transportation documentation. Assist with repairs and maintenance of College vehicles, including trucks, vans, utility vehicles, trailers, and other equipment. Assist Fleet Mechanic with maintaining accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, parts, supplies, and equipment use. Respond to emergency maintenance situations and urgent facility needs. Perform routine and preventative maintenance on College buildings, facilities, vehicles, and equipment. Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment and systems. Perform basic repairs involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, doors, locks, fixtures, and other facility components as assigned. Assist with campus events as needed including athletic events, move-in activities, severe weather preparations and emergency response activities. Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Other duties as assigned.
