PLANT MAINTENANCE MECHANIC / WELDER

MECHANICAL & WELDING EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED
Eureka Stone Quarry, Inc. is seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Mechanic / Welder with strong hands-on experience in mechanical repair, welding, fabrication, and preventative maintenance . The ideal candidate will have experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment, conveyors, asphalt plant machinery, heavy equipment, and mechanical systems . Candidates should be comfortable using welding equipment, cutting torches, grinders, and other tools to fabricate, repair, and modify equipment and metal structures. This is a hands-on maintenance position for someone who can identify mechanical problems, determine the necessary repair, and get the job done safely and efficiently. A company truck will be provided for work-related travel between plant locations . A valid driver's license is required. Primary Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain asphalt plant equipment and machinery. Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and metal repair on plant equipment and structures. Repair and maintain conveyors, chutes, screens, hoppers, feeders, bearings, belts, chains, rollers, and other mechanical components . Perform preventative maintenance to reduce equipment breakdowns and plant downtime. Inspect equipment for worn, damaged, or defective components. Replace bearings, belts, chains, sprockets, rollers, guards, and other mechanical parts. Perform mechanical adjustments, alignment, and equipment repairs. Use MIG, stick, or other welding processes as required. Operate cutting torches, grinders, drills, and other fabrication equipment. Fabricate and modify metal components as needed. Respond to equipment breakdowns and assist with emergency repairs. Assist with installation and modification of plant equipment. Perform routine inspections and identify potential equipment problems before they become major repairs. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements. Mechanical & Welding Skills The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with: Industrial mechanical maintenance Welding and metal fabrication Conveyors and material-handling equipment Bearings, belts, chains, sprockets, and rollers Hydraulic and mechanical systems Heavy equipment Asphalt plant, quarry, or aggregate equipment Cutting and torch work Grinding and metal preparation Preventative maintenance Mechanical troubleshooting Equipment installation and modifications Additional Maintenance Responsibilities When needed, the employee may also assist with: General building and facility maintenance Carpentry repairs Minor plumbing and electrical repairs Repairing doors, windows, stairs, railings, and other structures Painting and general cleanup Plant improvement projects Qualifications Strong mechanical repair and troubleshooting experience required. Welding and fabrication experience strongly preferred. Previous industrial, quarry, asphalt plant, heavy equipment, construction, or manufacturing maintenance experience preferred. Ability to safely operate welding machines, cutting torches, grinders, drills, and power tools. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be reliable, dependable, and safety-conscious. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be willing to travel between multiple plant locations. Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, or respond to equipment breakdowns when necessary.
