Machinery Maintenance Mechanic, CNC Location:
Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Keyport (NUWC Keyport) SRM is seeking an experienced Machinery Maintenance Mechanic with strong CNC maintenance and repair experience to support operations at NUWC Keyport. CNC equipment experience is a primary focus of this position, with a significant number of machines at the site manufactured by HAAS. The successful candidate will also maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a broad range of industrial machinery and fabrication equipment. CNC & Machine Tool Experience — Top Priority Hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing CNC machines, manual machines, hydraulic presses, environmental ovens, blasting equipment, electronic fabrication equipment, paint/coatings equipment, robotics, 3D printers, and the auxiliary air and water systems.
HAAS CNC
experience is particularly desirable due to the significant number of HAAS machines at the site. Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and controls-related equipment problems. Position Responsibilities Preventive & corrective maintenance, including inspections, lubrication, testing, component replacement, reassembly, and operational checks. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems to return equipment to safe and reliable operation. Read and interpret technical manuals, mechanical drawings, schematics, and maintenance documentation. Identify replacement parts and repair requirements and coordinate with manufacturers, vendors, and outside machine shops as needed. Maintain accurate maintenance and scheduling records and comply with applicable safety, quality, Navy, and DoD requirements. Minimum Qualifications A minimum of three years of experience with industrial equipment maintenance. Apprenticeship or demonstrated formal training, vocational/technical training, military technical training, or equivalent industrial maintenance experience. Experience diagnosing, dismantling, repairing, reassembling, testing, and adjusting industrial machinery and mechanical components. Working knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices. Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics and technical documentation. Licensed and certified to operate 6,000 pound electric and diesel forklift. Ability to successfully complete occupational and explosives physical examinations. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. Additional Equipment Experience Experience with manual lathes and mills, sheet metal presses, pumps, valves, motors, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and other industrial fabrication equipment is highly desirable. Experience researching replacement parts and communicating specifications for major equipment repairs is also desirable. Physical Requirements Ability to safely perform hands-on industrial maintenance, use required tools and equipment, and work around operating machinery. Work may require lifting, bending, standing, climbing, and working in and around industrial equipment.
