Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Structured Cabling Technician to join our growing team. This role involves the installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting of low-voltage systems across commercial and residential projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and takes pride in delivering clean, code-compliant installations. Key Responsibilities Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber) Rough-in and trim-out low-voltage cabling for new construction and remodels Install and support systems including data, voice, Wi-Fi, access control, cameras, and AV Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and scope documents Label, dress, and organize cabling to industry standards Perform troubleshooting, testing, and certification of cabling systems Maintain jobsite safety and follow all company and OSHA guidelines Communicate effectively with project managers, superintendents, and clients Qualifications 2+ years of hands-on low-voltage or structured cabling experience preferred Strong knowledge of TIA/EIA standards and best practices Experience with copper and fiber terminations Ability to use testing equipment (Fluke or equivalent preferred) Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in tight spaces Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to pass background check (as required by some projects) Preferred (Not Required) BICSI, ETA, or manufacturer certifications Experience in commercial construction environments Fiber splicing and OTDR testing experience Access control, CCTV, or AV system experience What We Offer Competitive hourly pay with overtime opportunities Steady work with long-term growth potential Professional, safety-focused work environment Opportunity to work on high-profile commercial projects Advancement opportunities as the company grows
