Job Description

Access Control & CCTV Technician Overview We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Access Control/CCTV Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience with Access Control Systems (ACS) , CCCTV systems, and will be responsible for their installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Technicians should have a full suite of personal tools to get the job done right and efficiently. Key Qualifications To be considered for this role, candidates must have experience with at least one Access Control System (ACS) such as Brivo, OpenPath, PDK, CDVI, Genetec, or Lenel.
Candidates should be able to:
Differentiate between OSDP/Weigand Card Readers, REX, Motion Sensors, Door Contacts, relay boards etc. Dress and route cable into telecommunications closets, through attics, conduit, and between floors into apartments, and other work areas per job specifications Identify and remove redundant cabling Install Panduit, conduit, and/or innerduct Punch Down CAT6 cabling Maintain clean and organized cable management. Understand IP addresses, NVR setups, recording schedules, and remote CCTV viewing. Pay & Benefits Pay range: $28-$38/hr (commensurate with experience) 50% paid health insurance coverage Employer-matching 401(k) 10 PTO days per year 6 Paid Public Holidays Minimum Requirements Own and maintain a personal toolset (including multimeter, power tools, dremels, glow rods, etc.). Ability to cut in electric strikes on both metal and wood door frames neatly. Capable of running cabling through door frames and installing electrified crash bars. Experience with installing maglocks, motion sensors, and push-to-exit buttons. Proficient in terminating access control panels and landing wiring. Experience with mounting and installing camera systems. Basic knowledge of networking principles, including IP addresses and port forwarding rules. Ability to pass an interview that includes practical and theoretical tests on these principles. Key Duties & Responsibilities Complete installations and projects as directed by management. Accurately submit paperwork and project documentation on time. Troubleshoot security systems with various variables and complexities. Work closely with clients to understand their security needs and offer customized solutions. Ensure that installations adhere to industry fire code standards and local regulations. Provide on-site training to clients on how to operate CCTV and security systems. Desired Experience & Skills Familiarity with IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems) is a plus. Knowledge of telecommunication principles as they relate to security systems. Relevant certifications (e.g., electronics, electrical engineering) are a bonus. Experience with fire alarm systems is a plus. Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent attention to detail. Physical & Other Requirements Must maintain a clean-cut appearance. Fluent in English (spoken and written). Must have a clean criminal record and be able to pass a background check. Must have a clean driving record (no accidents in the last 3 years). Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Comfortable kneeling, crouching, stooping, and reaching above/below shoulder height. Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp, twist, and pull. Able to climb ladders and work at heights. Capable of working outdoors in various weather conditions year-round.
