Hartford, CT Schedule:
Full-Time | Monday-Friday Job Overview TEKsystems is seeking motivated Cable Technicians to support structured cabling and low-voltage projects throughout the Hartford, CT area. This position is ideal for technicians with experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting copper and fiber optic cabling in commercial environments. Whether you're an experienced installer or looking to grow your career in the low-voltage industry, we want to hear from you. Responsibilities Pull, route, and secure Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling Terminate copper and fiber cables following industry standards Install cable pathways including J-hooks, cable trays, conduit, and sleeves Perform labeling, documentation, and cable management Test and troubleshoot network cabling systems Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams Maintain a safe and organized work environment Work independently and as part of a team to complete projects on schedule Required Qualifications 1+ years of structured cabling or low-voltage experience Experience pulling and terminating Cat5e, Cat6, and/or fiber optic cable Ability to work on ladders and lifts Experience with hand tools and cable testing equipment Reliable transportation to project sites Strong communication and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications OSHA 10 Certification T1/T2, C5/C6, or other low-voltage certifications Experience in commercial construction, healthcare, education, or data center environments Fiber termination and testing experience Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to stand, bend, climb, and work in various construction environments Comfortable working at heights when required Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Hartford, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
