Job Description Low Voltage Cable Technician

  • Chicago IL Join Next Level Technician as a Low Voltage Cable Technician in Chicago IL ! Earn $22

Responsibilities Pull, route, terminate, and label CAT5e/CAT6 cabling in commercial environments Install and terminate fiber optic cabling (a plus) Dress and organize cabling in MDF/IDF rooms and communication closets Test installed cabling using Fluke or similar testers Punch down voice and data jacks and terminate patch panels Install racks, cabinets, ladder rack, cable tray, and pathway systems Assist with buildouts of telecom rooms and network infrastructure Read and interpret blueprints, system layouts, and cable schedules Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites Work safely on ladders and lifts (comfortable with heights) Requirements 2+ years of commercial structured cabling experience Experience pulling and terminating CAT5e/CAT6 cabling Basic understanding of cable testing and troubleshooting Ability to read blueprints and installation drawings Reliable transportation and strong work ethic Basic hand tools and PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, steel-toe boots) Preferred Qualifications Experience with fiber optic installation or termination Experience working in commercial, industrial, or data center environments BICSI certification a plus OSHA or lift certifications Experience installing cable tray or conduit pathways Why Work with Next Level Technician in Chicago IL?
