The Traveling IT/Low Voltage Installer deploys, terminates, tests, and troubleshoots structured cabling, network hardware, and low-voltage security systems across commercial job sites. This role requires up to 80-100% travel to build out network infrastructure for new construction, retail remodels, warehouses, and corporate facilities.

Key Responsibilities Structured Cabling:

Pull, route, bundle, and terminate Cat6,A/V Cables, and fiber optic cables according to BICSI standards and local electrical codes.

Hardware Installation:

Assemble and mount server racks, patch panels, wireless access points (WAPs), IP security cameras, access control hardware, and POS systems.

Testing & Certification:

Perform continuity, wiremap, and OTDR/copper testing using Fluke analyzers; generate, document, and submit closeout packages.

Plan Reading:

Interpret blueprints, construction drawings, rack elevation diagrams, and scopes of work (SOW) to execute accurate site layouts.

Site Management & Repair:

Conduct pre-installation site surveys, trace legacy cabling, troubleshoot active line issues, and maintain clear daily progress reporting with project managers. Qualifications & Physical Requirements Valid driver's license and Transportation, clean driving record, and ability to pass background checks Physical capability to lift 50+ lbs, work at heights on ladders or scissor lifts, and operate in plenum or tight utility spaces. High adaptability for dynamic travel schedules, including frequent overnight stays, weekend deployments. Desirable Certifications(Not required): BICSI (Installer 1/2 or Tech), OSHA 10/30, Scissor/Boom Lift Certification, Fall Certification.

Pay:

$20.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 60.0 per week
